If you are considering buying a wood-burning stove for your French property and are unsure as to: which size and type to choose; whether your existing flue or chimney is suitable for use; if your chimney will need lining or not - you could opt for our site & flue survey.

From as little as €25,00 we can conduct a survey and establish the size and type of appliance required to heat your room giving consideration to factors such as room size, insulation (if any) as well as other factors which can affect the size of heat output required. In addition we can inspect your flue way and advise on suitable methods of flueing your stove. It’s recommended that you have a chimney sweep at this point (and certainly before any installation is carried out) so that the soundness of the chimney can be established prior to an installation. It can be very frustrating to fit a new wood-burner for example, only to find out that the chimney needs some sort of remedial work to be carried out before the installation can begin.

*The cost of a survey can vary depending on the distance we have to travel. At Stove-Sellers, we service clients from all over the Limousin & Indre region and quite often we travel a lot further afield and given the time and distance involved we have to make a charge to allow for the travel disbursements.   

If you require a survey of this nature it’s usually worthwhile to include a chimney sweep and we will endeavour to keep our costs as low as possible.
